The "Financial Literacy Workshop," conducted on October 1st by the International Service Division, was a noteworthy event. Mr. Wes Teo, Associate Group Director at PropNex Realty and 3KeyHomes, took the lead in delivering comprehensive financial planning knowledge to foreign workers. Beyond the educational aspect, the division thoughtfully provided attendees with goodie bags, food, and beverages, demonstrating a commitment to holistic support.
On 6th October, the Youth Development (YD) Division of RACNTU celebrated a joyful Children's Day with children from Care Community Services Society’s CareKids@MacPherson, C.A.R.E.tapult Programme – a free academic support programme in English and Maths held weekly at MacPherson Community Club. A total of 43 children and 16 volunteers attended the event, and the YD division members played the roles of befrienders and facilitators.
The Community Service Division successfully kick-started the CareElderly programme on the 14th of October. The objective of this event is to provide an avenue for our beneficiaries, the elderly living alone to seek help in times of need. Furthermore, this event aims to provide a foundation for RACNTU in establishing close relationships with the elderly and CCSS to facilitate future volunteering activities.
On the 14th of October 2023, members from the Special Project and Professional Development teams participated in the “Engaging with Special Needs Workshop” held at The Arc. The main activity was the communication practice session, aimed at enhancing interactions with individuals experiencing autism and intellectual disabilities
On October 22nd, RACNTU hosted its inaugural Bonding Day organized by the Club Service Division. The event featured engaging station games, fostering teamwork and camaraderie among Rotaractors. The day concluded with a delightful dinner and prizes, achieving its goal of strengthening bonds and creating lasting memories. Kudos to the Club Service division for the successful organization
In October, the Special Projects Division hosted a MINDS LifeSkills Workshop at MINDS Clementi Training & Development Centre, focusing on empowering Special Needs beneficiaries with essential life skills. The volunteers, applying knowledge from the Engaging with Special Needs Workshop, conducted activities like road safety presentations, a board game session, and a creative mask decorating activity, bringing joy to the participants. Special thanks to the Special Projects volunteers for their impactful contribution to the lives of these individuals.
